The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award given by bloggers to other bloggers who are positive, inspiring, and creative.

I am both honored and flattered to have been nominated for this award by Sylvia over at Smiles and Hugs, especially since I have only been writing publicly for a few weeks now.

This small-ish gesture actually means the world to me and will be instrumental in motivating me to keep writing!

So with no further adieu, here are my answers to Sylvia’s questions and then lastly, some links to my own nominees, including a few questions of my own:

Which country you would like to visit on vacation?

This is a tough one – I have a long and growing bucket list of vacation destinations.  However, for the sake of this post I will go with Croatia as it’s been on my mind lately.

Do you like ice cream and which flavor?

I often count my blessings that I was born without much of a sweet tooth but come on, who doesn’t like ice cream?!?  Is this a trick question to see if I’m really an American or not?  Just kidding; but I’m pretty basic here – vanilla all the way.

If you could go back in time what would you say to yourself?

Don’t eat the red pill!!!  Ok I’m joking again.  I would say something along the lines of, “follow your passion and do what makes you happy.  At the end of the day, this is what matters most.  Never make decisions based on what you think you should do or what others think is right.”

Whether or not my past-self would listen to future-me is another story…

What kind of message you want to give to the future generation?

Put your damn phones down; life is happening right here in front of you!  Essentially I would attempt to convey the importance of being present.  Alternatively, I might try and tell them about a few ways to be happier, right now!

If you have the chance to meet a famous person who would it be?

I’ve met a handful of famous people over the years…right now I’d probably say Tony Robbins.

What is your muse for writing posts in your blog?

Hmmm…can you repeat the question?

…Ok thank you Google, I think I get it now.  Assuming I understand correctly, my muse is probably the pursuit of growth, simply stated – both my own growth and that of my readers.  I’ve overcome some difficult challenges (haven’t we all?) and I hope to share these stories and the ensuing lessons learned so that others may benefit from my trials and tribulations.

What is your inspiration during hard times?

I’m still trying to figure this out…I want to say helping others but I haven’t honestly put my finger on how best to do this just yet.  For now let’s say my family, as well as the aspiration of (hopefully) having a family of my own someday.

Which is your favorite author the one who inspired you the most?

Abraham-Hicks (Esther & Jerry) have been a major inspiration in my overall growth.  Also lately I’ve been a huge fan of Steve Pavlina.  The guy’s a genius and it’s no wonder that he has the most popular personal development blog in the world.

What are you grateful for?

Wow, so many things.  I could write 10 entire blog posts just answering this question.  But to keep it simple, I am most grateful for my health, for this day, my friends and family, and the ability and inspiration to share my thoughts and words with each of you.

What is the purpose of our civilization? Why were we humans born in this World?

Way to end on an existential note!  I’m really not sure how to answer the first part but I honestly believe we humans were put on this planet to be happy, to explore and to experience contrast which breeds (individual) desire.  This desire then expands the global consciousness, of which we are all a part, and consequently expands the universe outwards.  Thus, we are here to ensure continued expansion and growth…i.e. progress.

And finally, here are my own nominations:

Smiles and Hugs

Not sure if it’s fair game to nominate the person that tagged you but oh well, I love her writing!

Thinking Clearly

Pretty cool and insightful posts that explore the human mind – why we do what we do, etc.  Her site also contains some great info on mindfulness, positive thinking, and philosophy.

Pocketful of Smiles

Beautifully designed site with a plethora of helpful info from relationship advice to life & well-being articles, written by Candice N. Bisram, who is a Certified Life & Happiness Coach.

The Seeds 4 Life

Another awesome site that covers topics including: Growth, Happiness, Change, Dreams, Inspiration, Love, Healing, Motivation, Success, and Wisdom.  A cool thing about this site is that they accept guest written posts from their community, so the material isn’t limited to one or two authors, providing readers with a wide range of viewpoints.

Steve Pavlina

Again, he has the most popular personal development site in the world and most certainly doesn’t need my accolades (or another award) but regardless, I decided to nominate Steve in case you are not familiar with his site; it contains highly useful/practical advice and also meets the criteria for this award.

My questions for my fellow bloggers are:

  1. Which country you would like to visit on vacation if you knew it were your last trip ever?
  2. What is your favorite food? Least favorite?
  3. If you could go back in time what would you say to yourself?
  4. What kind of message you want to give to the future generation?
  5. If you have the chance to meet a famous person who would it be and why?
  6. What is your muse for writing posts in you blog?
  7. How do you stay motivated during hard times?
  8. Which is you favorite author the one who inspired you the most?
  9. What 3 things are you most grateful for?
  10. What is the purpose of life? Why were we humans born in this World?

Looking fwd to reading your responses and thank you all for the loving words and inspiration you continue to share with the world.

Cheers!
